Who we are
Spanning 3,000 square meters, The Garden of Inseparable Hearts is a private classical garden often regarded as a “museum of Chinese gardens.” The project represents a decade of meticulous restoration involving more than 70 master craftsmen who reconstructed historic structures brick by brick. The result is a seamless integration of the sophisticated southern Chinese garden style with the refined aesthetics of traditional landscaping, deeply enriched by Chinese cultural heritage.
The architectural layout is both precise and orderly. Halls such as Chengyu Hall, Zidi Hall, and Zhengxin Hall are arranged in a clear spatial rhythm, showcasing exceptional decorative detail. In the rear garden stands the Hexin (Inseparable Hearts) Pavilion, the garden’s namesake. Built around 1780AD, the pavilion was originally built along the banks of the Yangtze River and relocated to the garden during the construction of the Three Gorges Damn for preservation.
The garden’s landscape offers shifting perspectives—winding paths and layered views ensure that new scenes are revealed with every step. With over one hundred original antiques from the Song, Yuan, Ming, and Qing dynasties available for close viewing, the Garden of Inseparable Hearts offers rare up close and personal encounters with artifacts spanning a millennium of Chinese civilization.
